The Children's Ark brings children ages 3 - 5 together year round to first learn that Jesus loves them, and second, to introduce them to the holy mysteries of Baptism and the Eucharist as well as Bible stories and parables.

Substitute teacher: talk and play with children before class and then assist teachers with class activities. 1.5 hours as needed during 10:15 service

Handyperson: repair wooden toys and story materials. As needed

Godly Play is a Montessori-influenced curriculum that teaches children the art of using religious language through the telling of parables and sacred stories, silence and liturgical action. Godly Play is used in our three elementary classrooms.

Story Tellers: tell the stories of our faith: sacred stories, parables, and even stories about our worship. The stories are already written! Training is available. Storytellers are needed for each classroom. 1 hour per week on Sundays between services, plus some at-home preparation

Door Keepers: welcome children to the classroom, making sure everyone is ready to to enter the sacred space. Door keepers assist storytellers in managing the classroom. Training is available. Doorkeepers are needed in each classroom. 1 hour per week on Sundays between services

Feast Providers: bring small snacks (fruit, crackers or cookies) to be enjoyed by the Godly Play classes. The average class size 10-15. Feast providers are welcome, but not required to stay for lesson. As needed (sign-up sheets are located outside each classroom)

Handyperson/Crafters: create story materials using provided patterns. Some stories require wood-working skills; many stories are made from "found" objects and felt cut-outs. As needed

Journey to Adulthood (Rite 13, J2A, YAC) is the name of the three-part Christian Formation curriculum St. Timothy's uses with our youth in grades 6-12. Our desire is to help our youth develop into active disciples and members of the church. 

Teachers: co-lead classes on Sunday mornings in each of the three classrooms. Curriculum training is available. Six (3 female and 3 male) teachers are needed for the program year. 1 hour per week on Sundays plus some at-home preparation

Honorary Teachers and Helpers: from time to time lessons require either particular skills or knowledge, or more preparation than the teachers can adequately complete in a week's time. Share the particular skills and gifts that you have. 1 hour on Sunday morning plus at home preparation as needed

Episcopal Youth Club (EYC) provides fellowship, spiritual development, and fun blended with service for students in grades 6 through 12. This group currently gathers once a month.

EYC Coordinator: plan and oversee one or more activity per month during the program year. 4-6 hours per month

EYC Leaders: assist the EYC coordinator depending on activity. 2-8 hours per month

Drivers/chaperones: 2-4 per activity, depending on number of youth involved in the activity. As needed

Administrative Helper: email youth and parents about upcoming events, phone calls and event scheduling. As needed

Adult Formation seeks to stimulate adult discussion regarding the Episcopal faith, theology,
and spirituality.  

Class Facilitator: share and/or facilitate any number of courses or materials with the adult members of the parish as part of enriching the learning experience at St. Timothy's. Recent examples include a parenting class, Via Media, a book study of "A Year of Living Biblically," as well as a discussion of environmental issues. There is a continued need for additional and varied offerings for adults in the parish. Each member may have an interest and/or knowledge in other topics that they feel would be worth sharing. 1 hour per week Sundays plus preparation time as needed

Thursday Morning Worship & Study: a variety of ways to help, including setting up (in Children's Chapel), leading morning prayer, reading the lessons, and making coffee. This group meets Thursday mornings at 9 am, from September through May. 30 minutes per week, as needed.

Children's Chapel meets year-round to give children (grades K-3) a child-friendly worship service.

Coordinator: schedule weekly leaders to lead Children's Chapel, usually done in three parts (fall, winter/spring, summer). Activity is largely conducted via email or phone. 2-3 hours initial scheduling time and 1-2 hours monthly through Labor Day.

Weekly leaders: assist with age-appropriate Bible readings and follow-up conversation and activities. 1 hour on Sundays plus at-home preparation

Vacation Bible School is a week-long experience for children ages 3 through fifth grade. VBS offers a time of fun learning, complete with crafts, songs and games. Dinner is served each night. VBS is traditionally held the third week of June.
